United States Quartermaster Corps reports, 1873-1880.

The collection consists of various quartermaster reports dated 1873-1880 in Georgia. Reports are signed by a succession of Assistant Quartermasters in Savannah, Georgia (John W. Dillenback, Frederick W. Robinson); Fort Pulaski, Georgia (H. W. Hubbell); and Atlanta, Georgia (George L. Hoyt, J. S. C. Lee, S. E. Clark, J. G. Chandler, C. W. Williams, H. J. Reilly, J. A. Olmstead). Reports include - Roll of enlisted men employed on extra duty; Quarterly return of quartermaster stores; Report of horses, mules and oxen; Return of officers doing duty in Quartermaster Department; and Personal reports to the Chief Quartermaster, Department of the South, Newport Barracks, Kentucky. Several items related to the repair of the steam launch "Pulaski."

Fort Arbuckle was built in the Indian Territory of Oklahoma on April 19, 1851 and was formally designated a fort in June 1851. It was established by the U.S. Army to protect the region's relocated Chickasaw and Choctaw tribes from raids by Kiowa and Comanche Indians.
